Wow, Salmon, you ROCK.
It sounds to me that not only did you do a spectacular job at the conference, but you did it under very trying circumstances. It also sounds like your advisor pushes you because you've got what it takes!
And, to that session chair who came up and spoke to you about your husband and handling of the situation, good for her, too. I got dizzy for a moment there, thinking she was a he, and was going to say something horrible and sexist.
Oh, and I'm glad you're not dead.
